Hello! I'm Stephanie Ireland, and I am a life coach. I have more than 20 years professional experience in the mental health services fields. I have experience at all levels of care, including hospitalization, residential, outpatient, and private practice.
As a life coach, I aim to support my clients and give them the ability to see their power in their own lives. I take each client's needs, values, and culture into consideration, to help them shape a healthy and meaningful foundation of healing and acceptance. Healing and growth are within us all, and I love leading clients to their truth and purpose!
I'm a native of Southern California, where I grew up to appreciate the beauty and meaning in life, through nature and its surroundings. I leverage my innate ability to intertwine nature, coaching, self-empowerment, and healing in each session with my clients.
I constantly strive to enhance and improve my services through continuing my education. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Studies, followed by a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, at the University of North Texas, with honors. During my undergraduate career, I dual-minored in Addiction Studies and Human Development and Family Sciences. I am an adjunct professor for UNT, teaching undergraduate courses and co-facilitating graduate courses in Rehabilitation Counseling, at the College of Public Health Services.
My certifications include:
I offer guidance and coaching in multiple areas of everyday life:
I understand that addiction, like any other disability, deserves positive care and regard. Every person deserves dignity and grace. I am sensitive to each client's culture and various intersections of life as they seek the change they desire.
Substance withdrawal in the absence of medical attention and guidance can result in severe health risks, including death in some cases. Always talk with a doctor when you are ready to reduce or stop using any substance, including alcohol.
As a yoga and fitness instructor, I believe movement has many benefits and is highly relatable to coaching. I have used yoga and fitness to help guide clients and define their strengths. When a client can bring conscious awareness to their abilities, mind, and body, and can strengthen other areas of biopsychosocial experience, they can obtain healthy skills to replace old habits and behaviors, for a more fulfilling quality of life.
In my spare time, I enjoy roller skating and participating in roller derby, a full-contact sport that incorporates elements of speed skating, rugby, and extreme sports!
